OPEN CASTING CALL – MEDINA TRIENNIAL 2026

The Medina Triennial is seeking participants for a newly commissioned artwork by an internationally renowned artist from Mexico, created in collaboration with a composer, for the inaugural 2026 edition of the Triennial. The project will take the form of a filmed collective performance that will later be presented as part of an installation during the exhibition.

We welcome singers, vocal enthusiasts, movers, and attentive listeners of all ages. No prior performance or vocal training is required. All voices, bodies, abilities, and backgrounds are encouraged to participate.

Participants will contribute to a shared performance through simple, guided vocal actions—breaths, tones, hums, resonances, calls, and whispered currents—coming together to form a collective soundscape inspired by the Erie Canal.

Participation is designed to be accessible and flexible. Choreography will be learned in advance through short instructional videos, with optional, informal in-person gatherings offered for those who wish to practice together.

Filming will take place on Saturday, March 28, 2026, during a 10 AM - 5 PM shoot at 324 Catherine Street in Medina, NY. By participating, individuals agree to be filmed as part of the artwork. Participants under the age of 17 are welcome with an accompanying adult.

Interested participants are invited to complete the participation form or contact [email protected] for further details regarding scheduling, location, and the filming process.

The deadline to register is February 20, 2026.
